Officially, Delta.com, tells us your pocketbook needs to be 22x14x9 ("ish").
Now, we know that unofficially you lot could just about bring a transport's steamer truck to the gate — at least if you can become it past TSA (as TSA does not really intendance about your purse size as long as it tin fit in a scanner). Sometimes you must go by the hired non-airline "goons" that human action as gatekeepers of bag sizes about to be brought on-lath.
Having said that, if yous meet the later, having a bag that will fit into the Delta size checker or the erstwhile size wise box is a must as so you are good to get and can tell the goons to get pound sand.
But just what are the true dimensions of these boxes? Are they really spot on what Delta tells us they are?
They are in fact only a lilliputian bigger than advertised as y'all can tell by these tests with a tape. The real size is much closer to 23x14x10 (the fourteen being a line of paint on the unit so I call back y'all could even fudge a bit there and end up OK with 23x15x10 but note the 10 is actually more like ix.nine!
So when looking at that perfect travel bag, know y'all have just a little scrap of wiggle room of just what will fit into the tester. After this, the best mode to avoid checked bag fees is but to hold a Delta AMEX bill of fare (<-LINK) that can go you up to nine bags FREE each fourth dimension you wing! – René
